Soil Health is Human Health

We understand that plants love nourishing food just as much as people do. We use a no-till approach to ensure our soil is healthy and thriving.

Our soil was tested three times and placed in the nation's top 10 percentile for soil quality. Our organic matter is measured around 9 percent.

We have millions of earthworms and grubs. Our soil is teeming with a diverse array of bacteria, fungi, protozoa, nematodes and arthropods. A diverse active population of soil organisms has four main benefits; nutrient cycling, controlling plant disease, enhancing soil structure and plant growth.

01 Urban

Creation Family Farms is a biodynamic, permaculture, urban farm in the city of Tarzana. We are one of Los Angeles's last remaining farms. We are situated on a half-acre in a residential neighborhood where we grow nutrient dense food with love. Our farm specializes in growing anti-cancer food, specifically microgreens, sprouts, mushrooms and herbs.

02 Philosophy

Our philosophy with farming is alignment with nature, its seasons, and the cycles of the moon. We never spray any poisons, pesticides, or chemicals. We use plants to heal the human and the earth. We are soil enthusiasts that build our soil through cover crops, mulching, composting and vermicomposting.

Our farm sequesters carbon through regenerative farming practices. Since 2018 we recycled over 90,000 pounds of organic material from various local businesses like juice bars, coffee shops, restaurants, and tree trimmers.

03 Educators

CFF does not just grow food, we are also educators that hold workshops and garden tours. We work with local schools, camps, businesses, non profits, garden clubs and foundations.

04 Enthusiasts

We are soil enthusiasts. Soil is our nation's future. Soil is alive and has tons of microorganisms in it, too tiny for the eyes to see. We are actively regenerating and growing our soil. All the nutrition in produce starts with the health of the soil. In order to ensure our soil is active and thriving. We never use any chemicals. We use a no till approach to ensure our soil’s community is never disturbed or destroyed. We use plants to heal our environment and soil.

We use an array of diverse cover crops. Cover crops help with soil erosion, soil compaction, help uptake more nutrients, helps with weed suppression and they bring beneficial pollinators to the space.

We want our soil to be covered with living plants with healthy roots to help the diverse organisms. We harvest the regenerative power of the earth to heal itself.

05 Cultivation

The cultivation process in itself is a gift from God. He provides us with all the natural tools — from our two hands to the pollinating bees — needed to create and sustain life. We work to implement those tools to yield organic, nutrient-dense food. 

In the garden, we all have the opportunity to connect with God and ourselves. You can pursue a more balanced and healthy lifestyle just by gardening. This form of therapy is known as green therapy. Working with nature is therapeutic to humans.

By observing our surroundings, nature will tell us everything that we need, desire and want. We are here to listen, observe and act with patience. If you build the oasis, they will come. A biodynamic oasis in the middle of the city. Nature has all the tools she needs to survive and thrive. We are aiding the garden to grow in a harmonious state.

06 Green therapy

​We want to share green therapy from our family to yours! Our mission is to introduce you to the medicinal properties of plants.

As a wise human once said, "Let thy food be thy medicine, and let thy medicine be thy food."

Grow Room

The “Green Room” is our indoor vertical farm that can produce almost a hundred pounds of microgreens, herbs, flowers and mushrooms a week. This grow room started out as a two-car garage, housing many of our earthly possessions.

In 2020, we converted this space into a sacred energy room to grow medicinal, super foods. This room has been layered with a Venetian Plaster. Venetian Plaster is layering natural earth minerals onto your walls. This is perfect for growing food as the material is antibacterial and antimicrobial. Inside the Venetian Plaster we infused it with copper and superfood plants. The copper acts as shield to block dirty EMF energy.

The superfoods of hemp, spirulina and chlorella acts as a natural plant dye to color the room. (There are literally tiny plants, crystals and copper in the wall.)

In one corner of the room we dedicated the space with a crystal altar. Our crystal altar is being guarded by a bronze statue named Judith who protects the space. Once you enter the grow room you can feel the healing energy and can understand why the plants grow to their most optimal state.
